2011 VW Golf GTI- 6.4 sec.
Fiesta ST- 6.7 sec.

Pentastar Challenger- 6.3 sec.
BMW 320i- 6.6 sec.

Now this extensive list is NOT to show that the RAV-4 is faster than these cars. It is just to demonstrate how Bonkers the RAV-4 is with that V6, and that if you ever find yourselves beside any of these cars at a red-light, you just might have a chance to beat them.Or at least not make a public shaming from yourself.

As a former Toyota Tech I ill admit I spend some time hooning in one of these....
Even more surprising is the Tundra 5.7 Liter.

Tundras are in the mid to high 14's in the 1/4 mile. Not bad for a rolling steel planet

I talked to an engineer from Toyota about that and he admitted that the rav4 V6 was the companies attempt at a "fun car" since it didn't really have anything playful in the line up at the time. You feel pretty good in one, until a 2004-2005 Forester XT rolls up and spanks the Yota by a full second to 60. I ALMOST bought one (rav4) but the lack of manual, and the totalitarian traction control plus the lack of...well...fun sent me to subaru.

My fathers sister has one with the V6; It is black and I have driven it. That V6 is just exactly as awesome as it looks like on paper.

Breaking news : Reasonably powerful awd car accelerates reasonably quickly, still drives like a pontoon boat.

The super low final drive they use help a lot too. Big torque, lots of gears = massive acceleration.

The Ford Flex Ecoboost does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. Line that up next to a v6 Mustang and smoke it! Seriously, some of the high spec people movers have some real power.

sort of. This is a factory hot rod really. The big engine from the car one up in the lineup that made its way down to the smaller chassis. I mean, this engine in the highlander is pretty peppy, heck it works great in an evora.

That Flex is about the coolest thing to be reasonably priced and carry 7 people. I adore the Eco-boost model , though I find this more intriguing because the ONLY thing that makes it recognisable as a V6 is a tiny badge in the grille. BMW could learn about discreteness looking at this CUV.

Everyone could learn a lot from the Flex. It's a shame so many people dislike the way it looks because it may be the best car Ford makes. It goes about it's job quietly and subtly, with a hint of class and generally keeps the fact that it's hiding almost 400 hp under the hood to itself and the driver.

That would be borderline super car if they can get the handling proper.....
400 ft lbs of tq in a car that small.....
Not sure on HP numbers.
Not even sure if my tq number was right.

Hahah not a problem. I actually got most of my english knowledge from exchange teachers from Canada (My school is in Mexico, and they force us to speak english all the time) and watching every episode of Top Gear at least three times. Seriously, I have said words I heard in Top Gear and my teachers just look at me amazed.

Toyota has always been somewhat of a closeted speed freak; if I recall correctly, the v6 Camry has a sub 6 sec 0-60. Also, in the '90s the RAV-4 had the same engine as the MR2 turbo, I'd love to have one of those.
